'Ayo & Ade's Big London Safari' - A Painted Word Event
by:
Segun Lee-French
Date: Sunday 7 May 2006 Time: 6pm - Midnight Entry: £5:00
Venue: JAMM, 261 Brixton Road, Brixton, SW9 6LH
Overview: What would have happened if Nigeria had colonized England?! This play reverses the roles of the colonized and colonizers, with hilarious dialogue and shrewd insights.
Painted Word showcases the best of British, African, Caribbean and American plays. Set in a cosy bar in Brixton, we perform play-readings of some the best plays ever written that rarely get produced in England. Come, see a play, then party after with Alphaphunk. Also featuring will be the Painted Word Bazaar - a selection of stalls with unique products and artwork for sale. The May art exhibition will be entitled 'Raise the Chalice', by photographer Kwame Lestrade. For more information call
