Cultural Archives Working
Towards a National Black Heritage Centre in London |
 |
Established
as an educational charity in 1981, the Black Cultural
Archives (BCA) is a community based organisation
helping to empower people of African and Caribbean
descent in the UK. We do this through collecting
and exhibiting the evidence about, and working to
raise awareness of, our historical and contemporary
contributions to all aspects of British life.
As we celebrate our 25th year, Oriki is headlining
our 2006 heritage programme, enhancing our rolling
educational activities as we move towards relocating
to a major new site in central Brixton. Black
Cultural Archives is currently shaping its plans
to create a National Black Heritage Centre in London.
For many years BCA has been seeking a permanent
home for its unique archive collection.
