BCA is to develop a new national centre for black cultural heritage, opening in Brixton in 2011, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the London Development Agency, and the London Borough of Lambeth.

The centre will house two exhibition spaces, an archive and library, and will provide a much-needed resource for the study of black Britain and the history of the African diaspora.

An additional £2.3m of funding is needed to see the project through to completion. For more information about the centre, read our leaflet Black Cultural Archives: 2011 (pdf).
